New Vavaú Side School
The Acting Governor of Vavaú Hon. Sonatane Tuá Taumoepeau officially opened the new Vavaú Side School on Friday 29th February, 2008.
This new school was funded by the European Union and Vavaú Construction conducted the building with supervision by the Ministry of Works.
The total estimated expenses of the working approximately T$6000,000- . Buildings consist of 6 classroom fully furnished, 4 toilet room sets and 2 5000 gallon cement water tanks.
The Vavaú Side School was introduced in 2004 and they used Fangatongo Primary School classroom with class 1, now class 5 this year.
Parents, guardians, families, friends and even the whole Vavaú people joined together to mark this special occassion for the fisrt government side school in the Vavaú group. Big feast and dancing is the normal way of Vavaú people!!!
