World Arc Round the World Rally
During the weekend 35 yachts arrived Vavaú for World Arc Round the World Rally.
According to the crew of the YACHT INTO THE BLUE, a 56ft Oyster yacht, they departed from St Lucia in Caribbean on January 2008 and are sailing round the world to arrive St Lucia in March 2009. They departed from Niue to Vavaú one week ago and will travel from Tonga to Fiji to continue on their sailing journey.
On Tuesday evening 10th June, at the Paradise Hotel a big party was held as a celebration for the crews. Director of Tourism Edgar Cocker presented a special speech of welcoming of the rally to the shores of Vavau and encouraged them to return again.
